Liana Li Evans - Author of Social Media Marketing: Engaging Strategies for Twitter, Facebook & Other Social Media

Liana “Li” Evans is the author of the social media marketing book, “Social Media Marketing:  Engaging Strategies for Facebook, Twitter & Other Social Media” and she is the Co-Founder and CEO of LiBeck Integrated Marketing as well as an adjunct professor for Rutgers University’s Mini MBA Program.  Li is an established online marketing industry veteran with over 15 years experience specializing in Search Marketing and Social Media Marketing.  Her deep technical background combined with a public relations background enables her to partner with clients for establishing successful online marketing campaigns that combine cross channel tactics cohesively.

Li was the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Social Media Marketing architect for such companies as QVC, Comcast (Fancast) and several other different sized companies. Her wealth of knowledge in dealing with large e-commerce and content sites allows her a wider perspective into what it takes to launch successful marketing campaigns in the online space.

Social media marketing isn’t a fad anymore, it needs to be a line item in your budget and this book explains how to make sure this line item doesn’t fail you.

How Did I Get Here?

I’ve been active in the online marketing space since about 1995 where my love for search engines began by figuring out these search engines were giant databases.  Using my years of programming and database administration skills I dove head first into online marketing and never looked back.  My unique blend of programming and public relations education gives me a unique perspective into the world of online marketing and into social media.  From the early days of online forums where trading comics was a way for me to pass time, to now interacting on not just a computer but a smart phone, I love interacting in social communities any way I can, and I love engaging with the people within them.

Over the years I’ve experienced a lot of change.  I was the search engine optimization expert at QVC for nearly two years where I helped to overall QVC’s website at the time (it was in FRAMES! yuck!) to a new format that was much more search engine friendly.  From there I got to work on a very exciting project for Comcast.  I was the lead SEO and Social Media Architect for Comcast’s Fancast project.  Both of these projects dealt with multi-million number of pages of dynamic content driven by proprietary databases and programming to bring them live to the web.

I’ve gained a lot of experience over my tenure in the online marketing space and all of that knowledge and experience goes into planning successful strategies for my current clients at LiBeck Integrated Marketing in online marketing and integrating those strategies with PPC, SEO, eMail, Social Media, Online Public Relations, Word of Mouth and traditional marketing efforts.  Nothing happens in a vacuum when it comes to marketing these days, especially with Social Media Marketing.

I’m an expert columnist at Click Z for Social Media Marketing, and at Search Engine Watch.  I’m also an expert speaker and trainer for many industry conferences such as Search Engine Strategies (SES), eMetrics, PubCon, MarketingProfs, Search Marketing Expo (SMX), SearchCamp Philly, Social Media plus and many other industry conferences.
